CERBAIR

COMPLETE ANTI-DRONE SOLUTION

WHAT ARE THE RISKS ON MY SITE?

Today, drones can completely bypass all existing security systems: fences, gates and access control measures are completely useless when it comes to preventing drone intrusions.

Therefore, drones weaken the security of all sensitive sites and pose new risks on them such as spying, contraband, collision or even terrorist attacks.

10 million drones in circulation today, 50 million by 2025... It is time security becomes three-dimensional.

WHAT IS CERBAIR?

A complete anti-drone solution, CERBAIR allows you to detect, identify and neutralize malicious drones before they enter your site.

Coming from French research, our radio frequency and optical technologies protect you from all civilian drones.

Finally, our real time alert and evidence-collection system enables you to neutralize the drone threat thanks to diverse countermeasures such as jamming and net throwers.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ARE CIVILIAN DRONES DANGEROUS?

Given how fast drones evolve and become more efficient, the opportunities to use them in a malicious way increase. Today, civilian drones are very affordable as you can get high end models for less than $1,500 in most hardware stores. These drones can now carry up to 5kgs and be controlled from several kilometres away which makes them potentially very dangerous. Additionally, drones are increasingly equipped with autopilot and GPS functions which allow them to follow routes autonomously, making it impossible to spot their pilots. For all these reasons, drones meet an ever-increasing demand both for leisure and commercial uses. By 2025, we anticipate that more than 50 million drones should be in circulation. This is a huge game changer for the security industry as drones completely ignore today’s security systems that protect sites at risk.

WHAT RISKS DO DRONES POSE?

We believe drones can pose a wide array of risks to sensitive sites. These can be grouped in 3 categories:

SPY DRONES : THESE VERY AFFORDABLE DRONES CAN THREATEN YOUR PRIVACY IN VARIOUS WAYS:

    • Stolen pictures: private life, confidential documents

    • Hacking: Wifi networks, digital spying

    • Audio listening: conversations, phone calls

    • Spotting before break-in

CARGO DRONES: THESE DRONES CAN TRANSPORT MATERIAL INSIDE YOUR SENSITIVE SITE AGAINST YOUR WILL

    • Cell phones: communication, organisation

    • Dangerous items: weapons, explosives

    • Drug trafficking : narcotic and other prohibited substances

COLLISIONS: PURPOSELY OR NOT, A FALLING DRONE CAN ENTAIL SERIOUS DAMAGE (WHETHER PHYSICAL OR MATERIAL) FOR VARIOUS REASONS:

    • Pilot mistake

    • Loss of radio communications

    • Attack

    • Terrorism

WHY SHOULD I BUY A CERBAIR SOLUTION?

Security systems have been designed in a drone-free environment. Indeed, they were made to tackle people intrusions through walls, fences, security gates, IP cameras, motion sensors or metal detectors… What use are all those systems when all it takes to spy or attack somebody is to spend less than $1,000 on a drone and learn to fly it in half an hour? Not to mention that criminals can today stay hidden, miles away, while entering your sensitive site. Our systems are the state of the art solution that bridges this gap by securing your site near airspace through drone detection using optical and radio-frequency-based technologies as well as advanced algorithms. It is a very accessible option that will perfectly complete your security systems.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY SITE IS AT RISK?

We often organise intrusion tests on sensitive sites with a certified drone pilot to determine your level of risk to the drone threat and assess your most vulnerable areas. After the test is performed, we will send you a security report with solutions to your problems.

HOW CAN YOU DETECT DRONES?

CerbAir uses optical and radio-frequency-based technologies as well as advanced algorithms. DroneWatch detects, tracks and identifies all types of civilian drones. Our automatic warning system accelerates the apprehension and prosecution of violators through real-time alerts and digital evidence collection.

DO YOU PRODUCE THE HARDWARE?

No: we use famous hardware manufactures’ IP cameras to detect drones as they have already been extensively tested and present all the necessary certifications. However, we have designed and produce our own radio frequency sensors as such device doesn’t exist on the market yet. Our expertise is rather in the software we designed that analyses both the video stream and the radio frequency spectrum. We sell packaged solutions that encompass everything our clients need to secure their near-airspace.

IS YOUR HARDWARE WEATHERPROOF?

Our sensors have already been tested under extreme conditions and show extraordinary resilience to weather (IP66 and best use between -25°C à +70°C) and vandalism.

DOES YOUR SYSTEM WORK AT NIGHT?

At night, our optical sensors switch to Infrared mode while our radio frequency modules are not affected. This allows us to guarantee 24/7 protection of your near airspace at the same detection ranges.

IS YOUR SYSTEM ON BATTERY?

No, all our detectors are connected to our server through POE (Power Over Ethernet) cables which greatly simplifies the installation. Our server can be easily installed in your security command center.

WHAT ARE YOUR DETECTION RANGES?

Radio Frequency: 2km

Optical: 150m (day/night, can be increased if use of higher definition cameras)

HOW GOOD IS THE DETECTION RATE?

95%

CAN I INTEGRATE YOUR SOLUTION WITH EXISTING SECURITY SOFTWARE AND APPLICATIONS?

Yes, we do know how important that is for our security partners, that is why we are designing an API to plug in our solution to any environment.

CAN YOU SPOT SEVERAL DRONES AT THE SAME TIME?

Yes

HOW ARE YOUR SENSORS CONNECTED TO THE SECURITY COMMAND CENTER?

Via POE (Power Over Ethernet) cables. If the distances are important, we use POE repetitors.

HOW CAN CERBAIR KEEP PACE WITH THE NEW DRONE MODELS?

We regularly test new drone models and keep on improving our software engine. Our software also benefits from our machine learning process that regularly improves its accuracy.

CAN YOU RECOGNISE EXOTIC/CUSTOM MADE DRONES?

We can spot a very wide array of drones including those which have not been manufactured by the largest industrials.

HOW SHOULD I INSTALL YOUR SOLUTION?

Because our sensors are directional, careful positioning is mandatory to secure your site in an efficient way. Our team of experts will be glad to show you different installation schemes to suit your needs and budget.

CAN I PLUG YOUR SOFTWARE ON EXISTING CAMERAS?

Theoretically yes, now most security cameras are aimed at the ground to detect people intrusions which hinders drone detection. Therefore, we need to separate those 2 levels of security, aiming our cameras at the sky to detect drones in advance as they get closer.

WHY DON’T YOU USE RADAR?

Radar technology is very costly and not adapted to detect small and non-metal targets.

CAN I TRY YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE BUYING IT?

In some cases, we can arrange temporary free demonstration just for you. Please send your request to info@southerncrossdrones.com in that regard.

WHO WILL INSTALL YOUR SOLUTION?

We work with a network of local partners who will gladly install our solution wherever you are.

WHAT DIFFERENTIATES YOU FROM YOUR COMPETITORS?

We have a smart approach of combining several technologies to detect drones rather than relying on a single one that can be insufficient under certain circumstances. Also, the way we designed our solution allows us to offer a very affordable solution with great efficiency that perfectly addresses most sites at risks needs and constraints.

CAN I BUY YOUR SOLUTION IN AUSTRALIA?

WHAT DO WE DO ONCE A DRONE IS DETECTED? HOW GOOD IS YOUR DETECTION IF I CANNOT GET RID OF THE INTRUDER?

Try to picture our solution as video surveillance: sites are protected from intrusion with IP cameras that keep the area perimeter under surveillance and alert guards once they detect something. These cameras do not shoot the intruder down right away. Our solution acts in the same way: it detects and warns people to take the right actions whether it implies to neutralise the drone or not (in most cases).

ONCE A DRONE IS DETECTED, THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO ACT ACCORDINGLY:

-Passives answers: usually, you do not have to shoot the drone down. Depending on the nature of your sensitive site, you can send a guard to patrol and make sure the drone didn't deliver a package (in jail), you can stop a conversation, tell VIPs to go hide somewhere safe or secure a conference room for instance.

-Active answers (drone neutralisation): we have paired our detection solution with existing countermeasures like jammers to take down malicious drones. However depending on local regulation, jamming may require special authorisation from relevant authorities prior to installation.
